Nicholas B. Buss

Nicholas B. Buss grew up in Visalia, California, where he attended Golden West High School and College of the Sequoias.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fresno Pacific University with a B.A. in Business Management and received his J.D. in 2015 from USC Gould School of Law with a certificate in Business Law.

During law school, Mr. Buss worked with Christian Legal Aid of Los Angeles and OpenGate Capital, one of the fastest growing private equity companies in Los Angeles.  At OpenGate, Mr. Buss was the sole law clerk for the General Counsel, working extensively on corporate carve-out transactions.

As a law student, Mr. Buss served as the Vice President-Placements of Legal Aid Alternative Breaks (LAAB), a student organization which raises money to send volunteer law students to communities impacted by natural disasters.  Mr. Buss was also a staff member of the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal and a staff member and contributing author of the USC Business Law Advisor.

Before returning to Visalia, Mr. Buss engaged in business litigation at a firm in downtown Los Angeles, handling complex real estate and fraudulent transfer matters.  Mr. Buss was involved in all areas of litigation, including law and motion, depositions, and discovery.  In one case, he successfully drafted and argued a motion to set aside a $964,000 default judgment, and drafted a successful motion to dismiss the case on summary judgment.

Mr. Buss is a San Francisco 49ers fanatic and enjoys DIY home improvements and logic games.
